yes age has nothing to do with it. If the judge feels that the 17 yr old well be a threat to the other person

First, do you mean a restraining order, which means the person can not approach you, has to stay as far as 500 feet away from you etc, or he or she are subject to arrest. If you feel your life is in danger, from this person, contact police immediately, they can answer questions about the restraining order too. I believe it varies from State to State.
