navy blue can sometimes act as a neutral color (a color that can be worn with basically any other color... like black, white, tan, beige, brown, etc.), just like a "y" is sometimes a vowel, depending on the situation. i would steer clear of black, red, and usually brown. however, tan or white would look really good, preferably tan AND white paired with navy. other colors, like green, purple, yellow, pink, and more specific shades, can look good depending on what you're wearing. that is, if you're refering to clothes. a good rule of thumb is to look for other colors in the piece, or even just compare paint samples if you're doing something like decorating a room. dont make the mistake my boyfriend makes sometimes and wear 2 different shades of navy together... haha he's usually well dressed but even he falls prey to this. it looks kind of weird from anyone else's perspective, as would black or brown.

I would not wear those two colors together. I would wear maybe navy blue and black, or navy blue in white, but never brown.

They'd be OK if pulled together with accessories: jewelry, bag, shoes, belt. I think the best way would be brown top with navy jeans & all brown accessories - or you could tie both together with an accessory that has both colors (like a sweater or scarf).

Dark jeans and a brown sweater look nice. Pair with matching jewelry and dress boots.

i it sometimes depend on what kind of textures it is. Pink and brown totally work better in my opinion...
