It isn't necessary if you have nice skin. I use it because it covers those little imperfections. Cover girl is very affordable and is good makeup it is usually about 4.99 and they have many formulas, one for teen skin, oily, aging skin and others. It can clog your pores. Jane cosmetics is also very good makeup and inexpensive usually a little less than cover girl although it doesn't come in as many formulas.

It depends on how old your are and what type of skin you have. If you have discoloration or blemishes, foundation can be a blessing. If you already have very nice skin tone and texture a tinted moisturizer with SPF of 8 to 15 should do.

The benefits of foundation are

* Will help other make up stay on longer...especially powder based make-ups.

*Most foundation has SPF and vitamins in it now, so you don't have to apply those things seperately

*Evens out skin tone for a flawless finish.

*Helps keep free radicals from penetrating your skin...as it is actually a barrier between you skin and the elements.

There are many affordable brands, but unfortunately, foundation is a very personal preferance type thing and you should sample a few types before you choose one. Just walk up to the counter and explain that you have never tried foundation and want to start, but you would like a sample before commiting to one formula.
I suggest the MAC counter and the Perscriptives counter to begin with. If you go to a salon that carries Sebastian, Trucco by Sebastain is also wonderful (it comes in a pump so you can never contaminate it with your fingers) These may seem pricey to you, but remember that a little foundation goes a very long way. You should be able to use one bottle for quite a while if you keep it sanitary.

I am afraid if you go to the drug store you won't like what you've picked and you will forever be jaded against foundation. Ask for help from a professional...get a free consultation.

good luck!!

Foundation is not necessary. It is simply used to even out the skin tone, or to cover blotchy skin, freckles or scarring. If you've never work foundation before, a good place to start is with powdered mineral foundations. There is less chance of error with them, they do not clog pores like liquid foundations, and they look more even on the skin. Try Neutrogena or L'Oreal for very reasonably priced ones. Be sure to use a good high SPF moisturizer under any foundation that you choose, though, to minimize the risk of sun damage.

No, Applying foundation is not necessary. This is possible because you can apply a light elegant blush and it will cover most blimishes or dark spots. Make up is make up and the wal-mart kind it the same as the expensive name brand. So no need to go spend a fourtune on expensive when it is conveinent at your local wal-mart or drug store. Always remeber that you are beatiful even without make up. Good Luck!

If you don't like or want to wear foundation, you can get one of those face powders that are foundation. Loreal makes a product called AirWear, which is a powder foundation. You can use concealer with a powder, if needed. If you want a little coverage, try a tinted moisturizer. Cover Girl Smoothers or Advanced Radiance are good ones to try.

Foundation is not nessacary. If you have good skin, you do not need it. If you wear it, you have to always wash your face before bed. the important thing is that it matches your skin tone, and to apply just enough to even out. I've heard some people say that it rots or ages the sking because your skin cannot breathe, but i doubt that is true.

NOOOOOO!!!!! Don't use foundation...it is just gross and it will make you look older. If you have flaws, use a concealer only in those places. You can also use a pure mineral type powder all over your face, it lets your skin breathe unlike foundation but has the same (if not better) coverage.

No particular suggestion frome me but it can give you acne if you dont take it off before you go to bed. Umm i dont know which is better. The powder works good but people can totally tell you have it on because the little small hairs on you face catch the powder. But liquid one is good cuz you just put it on and rub it in, and looks so real. Hope i helped. O and also i use maybelline, loreal and something else forgot bye!
