we dont have enough logic

Because we are a visual culture. Everything we see is a symbol or an icon- an image. So we have trouble making images out of mere words. If we take the time to translate the words into numbers and images, it won't be as much of a challenge. Or, we could just read more so that we are more comfortable with words.

The reason that word problems seem to give so many people trouble is differences in comprehension. It depends on what the person gets from what they read.....two people can read the same book and end up with totally different ideas of what the story was about. It is more about your own personal reality than the word problem itself.

I though all problems present challenges.

Some people have different skill or learning styles

visual people can do the best with this type of puzzle
