This question was purposely designed to be inflamatory. The idea was to point out our two party system only produces an "us" and "them" mentality.

For the record I'm a registered Independent. I was not disappointed by those who would assume I was a Democrat.

LOL. "Secretly?"

P.S. I see a variety of responses comparing the current regime to Hitler's. Sadly, some of the responses on here seem to indicate that anything short of the Holocaust is just fine.

People need to think "Fascist Italy", not "Nazi Germany". Look at what fascism implies, which is corporate control of the government, which is a fairly accurate description of the current Republican party. Completely corrupt and under the control of whoever is paying for things.

Another characteristic of fascist regimes is the constant focussing on external enemies - and there always groups to hate. There are either external ones who are threatening, or internal ones who threaten to "betray the country and stab it in the back".

By all means, let's focus on hating each other and hating "tree-hugging liberals", gays, blacks, illegals, welfare mothers, and whoever else we never have really liked rather than facing and cleaning up corruption.

In the words of the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz, "Don't look at the man behind the curtain!"

Yes, they are. They are keeping it a secret by not acting like the Gestapo. If they actually rounded up dissidents like Cindy Sheehan, and opposing politicians like Pelosi and Reed, it wouldn't be a secret anymore. They need to keep it a secret so they can keep getting away with their nefarious schemes, so they only wear their nazi uniforms when they are all alone. They don't even let each other see them wearing them.

By the way. You're an idiot. Nothing personal meant, just an observation.

What is it about you knee jerk liberal freaks that make you ask questions like this. Have you had family members come up missing in the night? Has there been a round up if Islamo facists and concentration camps set up to kill them? Has the border to Canada and Mexico been shut tight to keep people in? Not hardly.Have the Demos' in Congress done all they can to stop the exploration for our own souces of oil in this country to ease our dependance on outside sources? Yup. Have the Dems done all they can to stop the giving of rights to illegal border jumpers, i.e. free medical care, education, welfare? Nope and niether has the Republicans. Stop asking stupid questions and start being pro active in making the party of your choice a better party. Even if it is the detestable Democratic Party.

What's so secret about it? Y'can hear the clank of their jackboots all over the land these days, accompanied by their attack dogs Rush, Hannity, O'Reiley, Coulter... It is become, to quote a famous passage, another "Dark Night of the Soul". Beware the midnight knock at the door...

How so? Patriot Act?

I haven't seen the reprecussions of the Patriot Act personally, but I fear losing my rights. I worry that temporary acts will become permanent without too much press and then interpretation of those changes will become more harsh years later. That's how the cookie generally crumbles.

That depends. Have the GOP arrested people because of their religion, packed them into cattle cards, and cart them off to death camps?

No, and if you see a terrorist on your doorstep, I'm sure you'll be happier to see Republicans rather than Democrats standing by.

You must have something better to do than think of unimaginative insults for people you happen to disagree with.
