I have just tried to put a video on and you can hear video but no picture any ideas what this can be?

the heads on your video will need cleaning

It will be a lose connection with the wires, as if the sound is coming out then the actual video is playing normally. Give the connecting wires at the video and tv end a wiggle and make sure they are in properly. If this doesnt help try another video and if it works properly, it is the video casette that has the problem (if it doesnt you will need to buy some new wires)

It's possible one of your cords came out of the t.v. Look back there at the ones coming out from player & into t.v, they should be 3, one white red & yellow cord, look to see that these are all plugged in to corresponding color, thats my best guess.

Sure you already fixed this but it is definetly your inputs. Just make sure the red, white and yellow cords are in the correct hole on the TV
