i own a repair shop, and if he used a hand held scanner it don't do print outs but as far as what might be wrong with your car it could be a number of things doing it,first off before you do anything else to it,take it to an auto zone and let them do a free scan on it and they can tell you if it has any bad sensors on it or if something is going bad on it,i could tell you a lot of things to do to it ,and i might be wrong about all of them, but they can tell you for sure, and then you,ll know, what it is,good luck,,i hope this help,s.

Sorry some times electronic ignition won't set the "check engine light" Or malfunction indicator. The best I can recommend is see a Volvo Specialist or dealer 10 year old isn't that bad in Volvo's. The diagnostic info in the code and freeze frame data is critical in helping the mechanic zero in on the problem as is your description of the failure. Be as accurate as you can I start the car and drive at this speed get on the road x minutes and this happen every day. Except when you leave it at the mechanic shop!

ask, a reputable shop will tell you what they did and found. If a computer diag. was performed they will let you know, and should do another at no charge. Most shops will work with you
