Hard decision, I would save the newborn baby. The baby is helpless, the spouse has a chance of saving him self.

Very interesting. I don't mean to drone on and on but this question was asked all around the world with different results.
USA-Baby
Europe-Baby
Africa-Wife/Husband
Australia-Baby
Asia-Mother/Father
Middle East-Mother/Father
South America-Mother/Father
I know mother and father wasn't in there but that is what we learned in Sociology class. Mother and father would be your parents. Husband wife would be your spouse. Baby is of course your child. The results are interesting about how cultures see the importance of their family.
I personally would choose the baby.

The baby because a baby cannot help itself at all but my spouse could to a certain extent.

newborn baby, that baby is just starting to live, and it can't rescue itself. The spouse would have to try to same him or herself.

this is a tough question for a christian, because a baby is going to Heaven if it dies... what if the spouse isn't 'saved' ? do you leave them to go to hell when the baby WILL go to heaven? I just can't choose... how about i let my hubby save the baby and i stay to die?

If you are Christian - which I'm not - you are supposed to say your spouse, I suppose. The Bible says you forsake ALL others
(I assume this would include children) for your husband/wife.
Personally, I would go for the baby.

Baby, your spouse has more chance of survival on their own than a helpless new born.

Try to save both of them....if that is not possible then obviously i would save my spouse as she got anticipations from me and I need to fullfill those as a spouse ! Though it appears cruel thats the fact !
