I have searched years of birth records and luckly my mothers maiden name isnt that common,but i have found 5 people with the same surname,mothers maiden name as myself and all from the surrey area.I have made anote of the vol and page number but where can i go to t find out more and to see if we are related

Just call them and ask!
Sometimes that is the best way to go.

Go to your local Public Records Office, they're very helpful & will point you in the right direction. (my Dad's gone back to the 1700s!)

it takes a lot of effort to find info but join genesreunited.co.uk, enter names i the search box and you can then contact whoever entered that name and ask them questions to establish a link.ive traced my family back to 1800 that way so far...good luck!
