Yes, and in fact superman has been beat many times! Superman has two BIG weaknesses. First, is that "rare" mineral called kryptonite, which anyone and their dog has access to apparently. Second, and probably his biggest weakness is superman REALLY doesn't want to fight. Superman has been beat up by Batman (who has a kryptonite ring given to him by Superman, so that if he ever got out of control Batman could take him out), Wonderwoman, Shazam (i.e. Kingdom Come), Green Lantern, Lobo, plus many more including Alternate Reality Supermen. Since Superman does not like to fight his friends, like the boyscout he is, he takes it on the chin, and runs home to cry to Mama Kent. So, basically Superman's own worst enemy is Superman himself! However, if Superman ever lost his conscience pretty much nobody could beat him, BUT that's why Batman has the ring!

I would have to say Martian Manhunter, Superman is vulnerable to psychic attacks ( see infinite crisis and Maxwell Lord) I believe with just his telepathy Martian Manhunter could not only subdue, but defeat bigblue. Also given enough time to plan an attack and contigency plan Batman could also overcome The Big Blue Boyscout. Also Boneyard if you read this, I thought I was the only one who remebered the Kryptonite Ring once owned by Lex Luthor Kudos for a great answer dude

How many examples do you need,

The Hulk, his strength increases exponetially with his anger. He has fought Supes before but the fight ended when supes destroyed the device Dr Doom was using to keep the Hulk angry. Still, there was little question that the Hulks strentgh was going to make Big S forget all about Validus

Adam Warlock - one blast from his soul Gem and Supes would be down and out.

Dr Strange or Dr Fate or Zatana- either one posesses the magical strength (Supes other weakness besides Kryptonite).

Green Lantern - Very little on Supes Costume is yellow

Batman - as already mentioned, he has kryptonite and is willing to use it

More heroes too and plenty of villans, but you only asked for heroes.

Superman was killed off in the early 90's by DC comics.
Superman also has a rogues gallery of enemies, including his most well-known nemesis, Lex Luthor, who has been envisioned over the years in various forms as either a rogue scientific genius with a personal vendetta against Superman, or a powerful but corrupt CEO of a conglomerate called LexCorp.

The alien android (in most incarnations) known as Brainiac is considered by some as the second worst enemy of Superman. The enemy that accomplished the most, by actually killing Superman, is the raging monster Doomsday. Darkseid, one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, is also a formidable nemesis.

Other enemies of note include the demon Satanus, the fifth-dimensional imp Mr. Mxyzptlk, the Ultra-Humanite, the imperfect Superman clone Bizarro, criminal cyborg Metallo, Kryptonian criminal General Zod (and other Kryptonians imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for their crimes), the Parasite, the Prankster, the Cyborg Superman, Terra-Man, the Toyman, Composite Superman, Gog, and the Metropolis gang known as Intergang (which includes mad scientists such as Dabney Donovan and Thaddeus Killgrave)

Jon Jonzz the martian man-hunter. It largely depends on the writer but pound for pound in terms of actual physical strength Jon is a very close second to supes.

What you have to remember is that given a an almost similar level of super strength and invulnerability ( and yes I remember the fire vulnerability, but whilst it is a problem it is nowhere near as fatal as kryptonite) the manhunter has other powers that used judiciously could knock supes for six.

Telepathy could be used to disorient supes, Jon could then keep him disoriented go intangible and solidify his hand inside Superman's brain. Anby forming talons he could tear his brain to bits from the inside whilst using his shape shifting powers to form eight to ten extra arms and subject the man of steel to a prolonged beating.

In addition to all that he could also use his invisibility so that he couldn't be seen. Bearing in mind that supes is now being subjected to both psychic and physical batterings it would only be a matter of time before he was out.

Captain Marvel (Shazam!) can probably do it, because his powers are ultimately magic based, to which the big red S is vulnerable.

yeah, wonder woman can. in this one justice league episode, superman and wonderwoman were fighting each other cuz it was an illusion and they thought the other was a monster. So these two "monsters" were fighting, and they were pretty equal at first, but wonderwoman pinned him down, which is when superman realizes that he's fighting wonderwoman, and then after that he doesn't hit her cuz he doesn't want to hurt her....

whoo, that was long...hope that wasn't too complicated...

Not one-on-one, though there are a few who can give him a good run for his money. There are a few super villains who can take him on, but for those he usually gets by with a little help from his friends.
