Hun,if it is excessive,it is a complication.If you naturally have a cycle on the heavier side,it is normal to continue that.However,if it has changed or if it is alot heavier,you need to go to your gyno and speak to them about it.There could be something wrong in there,and im sure you would like to find out soon.If there is no other health problems once they do a routine exam then you may consult with your obgyn about placing you on birth control.This will help regulate your cycle and it will make it less heavy.Speak to him about the risks that come along with taking birth control,and you and your obgyn in together decide if being placed on birth control is right for you! I use to have very heavy bleeding every month. The Dr. just said that is how my periods are. When I got on the pill it didn't help. Talk with your Dr. I am sure he or she can answer all of your questions.
