Asus have always been top... they are known for quality and durability... i have used their mobo's for a long time and never had a single problem.. MSI's are reallly good too, i havent tried gigabyte... but i would stick with ASUS since they are supported worldwide, and they are easy to work with...

it is all up to u ... in my opinion i think ASUS (1), MSI (2)... and other brands.. i really havent tried others.. cause i didnt need to...

Right now a lot of boards are pretty close to quality. Boards I have always trusted are Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte. Recently Gigabyte has been up and down and it seems to depend on the specific model. DFI has some good boards but are also hit or miss and seem to have a lot of random conflict issues. ECS is a very budget brand and you shouldn't expect much out of them. Foxconn I don't have much experience with. I have used a board for socket 939 made by Asrock (it's an ASUS value brand) and it was solid for me but other people had issues.
Do some research, a good place to look is http://www.newegg.com and search the board for am2 socket and then read the user reviews. Don't decide based on one or two bad or good reviews, go with an average and take them all into account though.
