I had the same problem with my baby girl. Her head was totally lop sided because she favored one side of her head, then it became hard for her to lay on the other side of her head because it was uneven. Once I realized her head was misshapen (at 2 months) I freaked out and was horrified of the though of my daughter wearing a helmet! So I just reversed everywhere she would lay. I reversed her changing table and made sure her toys were facing so she had to lay on the opposite side she was favoring. I also propped something under her mattress so it was at a slight angle (I used a small book), so when she slept her head would naturally lay on the area I was trying to flatten. She 4 months now and her head is soooo much better! It's almost even. The pediatrician said that helmets are only needed in sever cases. He said to try to keep your baby off his/her back as much as possible. He also said my "crib remedy" was perfectly safe and great idea. Just don't incline the crib to much! Good luck!

Has a doctor told you to do this?
After seeing a physiotherapist a friend that had a baby a few days after me had to tape the top of her daughter's ear upwards to try to get it to stop drooping (something about it being squashed that way in utero because of the way the baby was laying... I'd never heard of that and found it surprising with how much babies move around!!)
Anyway, all it did was bug the baby and make her uncomfortable so she stopped doing it.
Mommy was more worried about it than baby was and she's gonna grow into that ear eventually. Plus it will be mostly covered with hair soon even if it doesn't sort itself out back to looking like a "perfectly" "normal" ear.
Let nature take it's course like someone else said I'm sure it will round back out. (My nephew had a head like a Coke can when he was born from forceps :-) but he's totally fine now too.)
It's too bad we're all so concerned with looks... every baby looks perfect!! Enjoy yours the way he is.
Take care

The shape of his WILL even out the older he gets AND the more he starts moving around during his sleep. I'm not really sure what a helmet is going to do for him other than make him uncomfortable. If you are that concerned, talk to his doctor.

His head will shape itself out eventually, once he starts rolling around, changing positions during sleep, no worries. I wouldn't traumatize my son with a helmet that is not necessary. Would you want to wear a helmet all day ?

Is the doctor concerned? I wouldn't do anything that drastic unless the doctor prescribes it and then , if you can, get several doctor opinions and go from there.

yes go ahead and go to the doctors, I don't have a head problem, but I have a back problem and my parents never got me a brace, so life is harder.
