wigginski is wrong.

The Bloody Sunday massacre was a massacre of civil rights marchers by British Paratroops not police. The IRA did not open fire first at the time of the massacre. There had been an exchange of gunfire a couple of hours prior to march but not suring the march. The Paras went into the Derry with weapons cocked and loaded and several are reported to have discussed notching up kills on the night before the operation.

The fact is that all those killed were innocent and were unarmed. The fact is that no the PIRA had withdrawn all weapons and active service members from Derry prior to the march at the request of the organisers. The Official IRA were there but they were about as effective as a chocolate fireguard.

It doesn't matter what the Unionist view is because the facts speak for themselves.

That members of the ira attacked first - the nationalist view is that the police opened fire first.
