My grandfather has an easychair that you can push a button on and it lifts up from the back so he can get up easier. Wouldn't this be great for toilettes? He thinks so.

that is completely an decision to think about. the important chance is that someone might want to declare to have invented what you've invented till now you probably did, and in the adventure that they filed for a patent and also you probably did not, they could win adverse to you in courtroom, even although you're the authentic inventor.
