For all the reasons you've mentioned, and also because you're cooped up with those people for 40 hours a week and there's always someone who has a raging case of PMS and loves to make everyone else miserable.

Don't forget the God awful birthday celebrations, where you have to stand around and sing "Happy Birthday" to someone you'd rather smack in the head with your stapler.

Or the person who thinks they're too important to stay home when they are sick. Those are the ones who will come in and piss and moan about how bad they feel, but they just had too much work to do to stay home. NO ONE cares, and quit sneezing all over the fax machine because I don't want to touch your mucus!

Or, the ones who are perpetually absent because their kids are sick AGAIN. I am soooooooo tired of picking up the slack because Little Johnny has a case of the lice, or whatever. I don't get to stay home when my cat is sick, so what's up with that?

ARGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!! I can feel the last bits of my sanity slipping away.....

None. Some people who are already mentally ill work in offices and the environment doesn't help. Personally, I couldn't handle a cubicle.

You described my workplace. Add a bunch of jabbering co-workers while I'm trying to get my work done. And now the added CURSE of being on-call.
I used to not mind my job, but now I hate it.

This doesn't happen to me, unless disappointment counts. I think that's normal though.... I just move on.
