Massage extra virgin olive oil into (and all around) the stretch marks immediately after stepping out of the shower or bath. An Italian friend told me about this, and I swear that it does work. Keep at it for at least three weeks, and when they start to fade, maintain the appearance on a weekly basis. It's not necessarily the olive oil that does the trick but rather the massage motion of an emollient on warm, moist skin.

I'm not sure how or if you can "reduce" the stretch marks. Were you heavier and lost some weight?

Everyone's skin has a different amount of "give" which is why some people never get stretch marks and others (sadly) do.

I got a few stretch marks during my first pregnancy, they eventually turned pale and didn't look bad. However, with my second pregnancy I slapped tons of Cocoa butter all over myself for the entire pregnancy. It never helped a bit! Sorry.

We owned a fitness center for years and I saw a lot of men and women who developed stretch marks on their bodies. Most of them got the stretch marks after gaining weight and then losing it.

If you find an answer to this one PLEASE post it, I'm sure lots of people would appreciate the help.

Good luck.

Once you've got them, there's not much you can do to reduce them. Time will turn them pale, rather than red so they will be less obvious. A tan, either fake or real, also disguises them a bit. There is a cream called Strivectin that rich people are going crazy over but it costs something like £130 a tube. The only way to reduce them is microdermabrasion (which is pretty expensive and extreme) but i've heard it's effective.

Cocoa butter is good for preventing them.

Let me say one thing ....creams, lotions and oils will not do it. The skin is a barrier and will not allow active molecules that may or may not reduce the stretch marks across the epidermis. Far better is to A) exercise which wil improve blood circulation that will help restore the skin. B) Eat a proper balanced diet including some essential fats which are often omitted in diet plans. C) Massage the areas concerned.
Let me reitterate expensive fluids bought from cosmetic companies are a con, lie and pure deception taking advantage of all our insecurities.

My wife used to use Olive Oil on her stretch marks (after 3 of our children), and while it may have helped a little - it was very oily and left stains everywhere. Not fun for me. After our last child (who was born 3 months ago), she had a stomach full of stretch marks. Her doctor recommended the Somatique Stretch Mark Treatment (from the Lady Soma brand), and she started using it all the time. MUCH BETTER! I have noticed remarkable improvement since she started using Somatique - and no more oily stains! My five year old son has even noticed how much nicer her stomach looks. I highly recommend it for you since you are looking to try Olive Oil, especially since its all natural and has no harmful chemicals in it.

Best way to improve the look of your stretch marks is by religiously applying lotion. Best lotion I used is the aloe massage cream of Kheils. You may use other lotions too specially the whitening ones. You can only make it look better and lighter but you can't make it disappear.

Good day!

Always have vegetables on side. Saute a big bag of frozen mixed vegetables in essential olive oil and garlic. Add some red pepper as well as turmeric for additional flavor as well as separate into portion-sized containers to the fridge.
