I dispise this! I never do it! I would hate to be hurt lying in the street and there be a crowd around me! its weird coz in the UK it happens all the time and the police dont even move people on they just let them stand and watch. I saw an ambulance the other day in the middle of the road helping someone who had been hit by a car and the crowd was massive i dont think its a nice thing to do but thats just my opinion!

The reason people slow when there is an accident is to make sure there is someone lending a helping hand. I have been in two major accidents and if it weren't for people being nosy and stopping I would have died. Be glad they stop and not just drive by. It could be you someday in need of help. LL.

LOL. As popular stupid rabbit, you're making me giggle with your questions. i'm a gradual driving force first of all. i do no longer prefer an twist of destiny to gradual me down. My acquaintances make exciting of me because of the fact I decelerate while the site visitors easy is green in simple terms in case it turns purple via the time i'm getting there. And if somebody is in the back of me tail gating me, I intentionally decelerate greater to bother them greater. Are you responsible of that? EDIT: you realize, i don't get human beings tail gating me while i'm moving on the linked fee cut back?!!!

In other countries, it is due to curiosity. In my country (Singapore), people slow down to write down the car's registered number for 4-D (lottery).

You have to slow down because the car in front of you did and you look out of boredom and maybe morbid curiosity.

You are absolutely right. I think they call it "rubber necking" where I come from. It is dangerous and it does slow traffic down.

People are naturally nosy.
Car accidents don't exactly occur around everyone on a daily basis.

It's just got to be human nature to be curious and see what happened even if it's not really any of our business.
