I would go to the ask the seller a question link and ask them, I think they probably made an error and they probably don't realize it yet.

If you were to win you would send the seller a cheque and a note with your name and address. the seller pays the cheque into their account and when its cleared they will send you the item. Postal Orders are quicker as they can be cashed straight away.
If the seller has payments accepted by cheque, PO on his listing then he has to honour that and let you pay that way.

a postal money order you MUST purchase at a post office. A cheque, you must purchase at a bank. Paypal is a joke.I would go to "contact sellor" on the ebay auction and ask him why you need paypal. It could be a scam from someone just wanting you to sign up for paypal.

I'm not sure why they both take checks and money orders AND require Paypal account. Usually, those sellers who require Paypal only take Paypal and not the other methods. Contact the seller and ask him to clarify his terms before you purchase an item from him or her.

paypal is a preffered method of payment on ebay, its free to set up, secure and it can be used with other web sites. I assume you would need to send thee person the money/cheque and then the seller should tell ebay that payment for the transaction has been recieved.

You have to have a pay pal account for that is the only way that they want their payment.IDK y though.Too much id theft.I don't use it.You can set one up though and get the item. But no-you cannot buy if you don't have a pay pal account. If you win the item, the seller will automaticaly take the money from your account, thus making it a lot faster.

basically they accept multple way of paying for the item, if you are going to pay by postal order or cheque send it via recorded delivery but i'd recommend paypal. it sounds like that buyer accepts it.

send an email to the seller before you bid and ask if they'll take the check. They may have left payment terms from a previous auction in place not realizing that they have conflicting payment terms on this auction.

when in doubt, just ask the seller. there are no fixed rules on ebay for accepting all payment types.

you send them the cheque. they may cash it and not send your item. then again they might send the item. sending cheques is more risky in my opinion.
