disclaimer: for all you well-spoken and informed liberals this is not for you. my rant is for all the loud-mouthed, dissagreeable, and uninformed liberals which presume to know everything and consistantly accuse consertives and republicans of being 'stupid.' so when you read 'liberals' just place 'loud-mouth jerk' in front of it.
i got started on this rant because i'm so sick of the liberals and the 'pro-choicers' on this site of accusing the pro-lifers of being uninformed and just plain stupid.
well i gathered som information for ya! i see time and time again where some person says that it's the womans right to choose and you are taking away her rights by saying she can't abort her baby.
well i have a right to bare arms... doesn't mean i can go out and shoot people! you have a right to your body, doesn't mean you can do anything you want with it! you can't go through a crowd of people and poke other people in the eye as you pass them.

you have a right to use your finger, you do not have the right to invade another persons personal space.
here is some food for thought, 'there is no debate among the medical comunity as to when life begins. life begins at conception'
so all you people aout there that think you can excuse abortion because it's not a life yet, your doctor and the person preforming the abortion know they are killing a life. and you know in your heart of hearts that it is a life also. if it wasn't a life, you wouldn't be making an apointment to kill it.
'oh, well, it's my body!' guess what? it's not! this little person inside you has a completely different genetic code! if it was really part of you, wouldn't it have the same basic structure of your own body?
most babys have a different blood type than it's mother. since when can your body function with 2 different blood types???

did you know that they can't excute a woman on death row if she is pregnant? if the fetus inside her is just another inconvient part of her body, why not just kill them both? because the state recognises that there are 2 different beings and the child cannot be held responsible for the sins of it's mother. wow! huh... the state? the same state that allows abortion.... seems a little twisted to me!
'what about rape or incest?' only 1% or all abortions occur because or rape or incest. 6% because of potential health problems for mom or baby. and a whopping 93% because of social reasons! guess what else? the larger percentage of abortions happen in middle-class and well to do families. so these people have to money to take care of a child, they just don't have the time, or a more logical reason would be because they would 'get into trouble.' especially because christians hold the record on abortions. yes! you read that right!

christians are killing their children! and here is another statistic to add to the equasion: 64% of abortions are preformed to never been married women. and 52% are under the age of 25.
so lets put what we have learnd together, unmarried upper middleclass christians under the age of 25 are having the majority of abortions.
that means that most abortions are happening because of shame. not because the family is so poor, or they are worried that the child will be sick, or because of rape. it's because some girl got herself into trouble and either she doesn't want to tell daddy or because mommy doesn't want her society friends to find out that her little girl was (gasp!) having sex outside of marriage.
so tell me again why is abortion legal??? to keep upper middle class families from having to experience a little humility? that is sick.

And how, exactly, is it hurting you if a woman has an abortion?
Will you raise the child? will you be supporting the child(well you might be if the mom is on welfare)?
A woman should not be forced to play "host" to an embryo.
I suppose you would rather a woman have a child that she doesn't want, then abuse it or neglect it. Or perhaps she could just leave it in a toilet or throw it in a dumpster somewhere. Oh, she could put it up for adoption, you say? But what about all of those other unwanted children who are already here and are spending their lives bouncing from home to home never really feeling loved or wanted.
Yeah, an embryo's "rights" should trump the rights of the people who are already here.
It's not hurting you, so why do you care? Just don't have an abortion if you don't want one.
Have you ever heard of the phrase "live and let live?" You should do what it says.
When you are trying to voice an opinion and be heard, you lose all credibility when you start calling people stupid loud-mouthed jerks, just so you know.

Same reason as the right wing conservatives, I guess. I'm not really a liberal. Tend to be right or left depending on the subject. I'm sick of the know-it-alls from both sides.
I get your point and agree for the most part, but opinions are just that, whether we agree with them or not.
After your continue* The thing about abortion is it's always been and always will be. Better that it should be safe and informed even if it is a devastating and hideous choice. I don't have to live with that woman's decision.
Would be brilliant if the medical community could come up with a way to transplant these embryos, rather than destroying them. Life starts at conception, but shouldn't end in a trash bin.
ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING TO HELP? ARE YOU VOLUNTEERING AT A CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER? ARE YOU PUSHING FOR LEGISLATION IN YOUR COUNTRY SO ALL PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 ARE GUARANTEED HEALTH CARE? AFFORDABLE DAY CARE? REAL CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT?

Hi I'm liberal and pro-choice. Technically conception begins the process of life ,that's true, but until the fourth month, a baby doesn't begin to show ' life',kicking , moving around etc. As one who was born at 27 weeks( six and a half months 2lbs 14 oz),53 years ago , with some disabilities , my doctors didn't think I'd make it .
Babies aren't really able to live independently if they have to be born until 4 months, but that doesn't mean they don't feel, they don't bond . I'm pro choice because there are way too many babies being born to parents , especially young teens , whose parents are ill-equipped to deal with the realities of parenthood but especially parenting babies who may have some kind of disabilities.
People tout adoption but just look at the children waiting to be adopted, if they aren't cute cuddly babies or todlers, they languish because of parents who weren't equipped to take care of them.
How many pro-life people adopt older children or even foster parent them? No one has ever been able to provide with those kinds of statistics.
I don't believe in late term abortion UNLESS the mother's life is at stake. I also don't believe that a woman who is raped or sexually assaulted should be foreced to have a child she didn't ask for .
Being a parent should be the ' choice' people make because without involvment of responspible caring parents no child ,even if it is born will survive and thrive.

I'm liberal (and pro-choice), but I'm pretty sure I'm not a loud-mouthed jerk. I will say that *often* the anti-choice people that I personally speak to are uninformed. That doesn't mean they're stupid or that all are uninformed, but many that I know don't have much information.
There are some flaws in your arguments about "rights," but I assume that this isn't a case of your wanting a discussion but more an opportunity to vent--so vent away, sister.

First of all replace "liberal" with any other word, such as republican or christian to name a few, and your opening sentence would be just as valid.
Second of all, yes you have the right to bear arms, but you do not have the right to shoot someone just because you feel like it. True statement.
I have the right to abort any living thing in my body up to a certain age. The courts have given me that right. It is a right of mine to kill my baby up to 6 months of gestational age, no matter what your opinion is. That is the basic fact in this argument, that at this time it is my lawful right to abort any child I conceive until i am 6 months pregnant.
So rant on lady, rant on, it won;t do any good, but make you look unbalanced.

Hey, the same can be said of conservatives and republicans. And you do have the right to rant and rave just like anyone else who is passionate about their beliefs but I doubt if it does any good because whether you be democrat or republican the guys at the top are just as crooked as they can get away with. Not only that but politicians don't seek to bring us together to find an answer for problems that everyone can live with but rather to polarize people in an effort to get your vote. They all put out this great bloody media push to get you to their way of thinking and most people fall right in with it. Rant all you like...liberals can rant all they like...I won't may much attention to either except in this one instance that I'm putting my two cents in for a change.
By the way, switch to decaf.
Cheers!

I disagree with much of what you say.
First, I don't think republicans are stupid. I think they are evil, narrow minded, self serving and insensitive much of the time.
Second, Rowe v. Wade made clear that women in the USA have the right to choose abortion if they want to. So, for conservative pro-lifers to say its not her choice are simply misinformed.
Third: It is our right to bear arms (nor bare arms). I think it is prudent, however, to have some controls enforced relative to who buys them and how long a permit takes to clear, etc.
Poking other people in the eye is not germane to the issue of right-to-choose.
Finally, if you're going to attempt to stress a point in an intelligent fashion, at LEAST use spell check and reread your passage to make sure it makes sense. You apparently did neither.

Because we tend to be more educated, and more open minded than the conservative. Therefore enabling us to go different places in our lives, more places. That means we have more experience in more areas than the conservative. Which means we have more knowledge than the conservative.
