You seriously have to ask? Adultery is adultery...pure and simple. I don't care if you have consent or not. Marriage and the sanctity of marriage is between a husband and his wife. This isn't to be shared. I think it's sick that John would allow her to sleep with her ex-husband - is he insane? Is he looking to collect on that later for his own benefit? The answer is yes - Brenda is cheating and yes, Steve is cheating! It's even worse that Brenda, Steve's current wife doesn't know. Sick...it's all sick. They should all be ashamed.

Yes, it is definitely cheating. It is also cheating for Angel to sleep with Steve even if John knows. If you let someone copy the answers to a test off your paper, you are agreeing to it, but it is still cheating no matter how you look at it. It's wrong. Why is she married to John if she wants to sleep with Steve and why is this O.K. with John? What is wrong with people???

Cheating is defined by those in the relationship. If you notice, what is cheating to some on here is not to others. So, the two parties need to decide it it's cheating and go from there. I'd bet my bottom dollar Brenda would say it's cheating but she's the only one who can answer.

Not only is it cheating, it's kinky cheating. Is John setting himself up as some moral authority higher than God, who can decide when adultery is okay and when it isn't? And even if he could, since Steve is married, it's STILL not fair to his wife, who doesn't know what pigs these people are.
Can't anyone just be honest about their feelings anymore?

while you're questioning, it in all likelihood is. every time you sense an emotional connection with somebody else, any style of touch that feels intimate - might desire to be merely speaking or texting, yet feels close, brings you nearer to that guy or woman - is cheating. while you're actually not emotionally in contact, then those comparable issues are merely friendly. additionally i'm assuming by potential of kissing you advise a kiss on the cheek, through fact on the mouth or deep kissing is unquestionably around the line.

Yes,and there is a whole lot of cheating going on here. Worst of all, if this is true, "Brenda" is being cheated out of the truth.

Get some new friends. These folks have more issues than a week's worth of Jerry Springer shows.
This is a freak show. Don't walk, run to the nearest exit and don't look back. They are sucking you into their well of disfunction looking for answers here.
They are all in unhealthy and damaged relationships. You would do well to avoid this entirely....

Sounds a lot like a soap opera. I can't imagine Steve giving his consent, or Angel wanting to sleep with her ex. When a person has sex with anyone other than their spouse with or without the spouses consent it is still adultery.
