hello,
well alimony is a supplemental income if you told your wife she didn't have to work and that you would take care of every thing....and you have to sometimes pay her whole life if she dosen't re-marry.....my brother just lost his a** and has to pay his ex 3000.00 a month for her up keep and the child support is 2500.00 for 3 kids....and they say missouri is one of the easiest to get by courts in...yea right... but i hope that you didn't tell her that...he learned his lesson....or that you got a pre-nup agreement....thats best it saves you and her fromm the whole arguement and she can't say that you took care of her.....and she has no rights to your money and the same for you....but you do have to split every thing down the middle and if you bought a house together you have to sell it and split the money equal.....i hope that this info helped you.....best of luck ....remember that it is always cheaper to keep her..thats why i am not married and never will be....and yes i am a girl...

Alimony is the same as Child support except it is a monthly payment of money awarded to the spouse in a divorce decree. Usually it goes to the woman, but in many cases now it lawfully goes to the person who makes the most money in the household, so it can go to the man or the woman, but if you have custody of the children if there's any, that has a lot to do with it too.

Its whats paid to a spouse after a divorce/separation that in orders them to keep them in the lifestyle to which they are accustomed. Typically, it is men who end up having to pay. Sometimes its only for a certain period of time and sometimes they pay until that spouse receiving alimony get remarried.

Alimony is the screwing you get for the screwing you got. It is money paid to your ex-spouse to keep her living in the manner she was when married to you. So it's a way for her to keep the benefits of being married to you, but getting rid of you.

Money paid to your ex-husband/wife. whichever spouse makes considerably more has to pay the others cost of living if and as long as the judge awards it to them, usually it is until they get married (thats how my aunts was anyway)
