Since you are 16 and most likely LOVE clothes, tell them you want gift cards to our favorite clothing places. This way you choose the clothes you want and they are not just giving you cash. Lots of adults feel like giving cash is tacky. Although realistically, there is no difference, they are really buying you clothes and other items you might be able to buy from your favorites stores, and they are not giving you money to spend on non-essentials. Gift cards to restaurants, bookstores, movie houses and even computer stores, so you can buy cool computer games and school supplies etc would also work.

Gift certificates or gift cards. They have them now for almost every store and they even have Visa's.That way you can go out and purchase what you want at a later date.

If you really dont care what you get then tell your family to donate your gifts to charity. Otherwise just take what you get and be grateful.
