I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that they just made her up (the story of molly is historical fiction).

All of the American Girl characters are historical fiction. The events they witness, social turmoil, and etc. is all based on history, but none of the characters were real people.

good books though, I loved them when I was younger. Of course then there were only like 4 American Girls, now there are like 16 lol
