NO - the serve has to come from below the waist - after that you can jump about and smash all you like!

No, the opening serve has to be made below the waist. Just think about it, if everybody were to serve overhead smashes, the game would be ridiculously one-sided.

you cannot start with a smash....it just cheating!!/.....you have to hit it from underneath below your waist.
