My dad took my brother to a football game so it's just my mom and me alone today and we want to do something fun. What can we do that is fun and cheap because we are buying a new house so we don't have a lot of money to spend.

You can go "window" shopping to look at stuff for your new house. Make a wish list for your new room!

Go to an art gallery. OR pcik a room and redo it. Paint, move furniture. etc. You will have fun and add value to your house.
Sunday afternoon matinees are cheap too. Its hard to say what to do, because I do not know what city you live in.

Go to a bookstore... find a book and just start reading... if you like, buy it... if not, it hasnt cost you anything and you probably still learned something from it!

I'm not sure how old you are but perhaps you can have a make up day. Just practice different looks on each other - crazy make up, nice make up.
