The reason im asking is cuz the manual says to use only 87 octane, but i blew a piston and trashed the jug on the recoil side of the motor last winter. The mechanic says that is cuz i was using the 87 octane. he says i should be using the 92 octane premium.

most of the "sled freaks" up here in Alberta use premium , but you must avoid fuels with alcohol like the plague, it is a very "dry" fuel and it eats up 2 stroke motors have fun, stay warm, sled sober.

using sub grade fuel usually only affects the valves,i recommend mid grade fuel,but the higher the octane the better it cleans the fuel system
