Bush administration is up to its old manipulations. In order to influence elections in Bush's favor they have made a couple arrangements that I know about, there are probably more:

1)Saddam Hussein verdict postponed until two days before US election. Because of this it will be in the headlines the day before elections in the US. It was originally going to be October 16, a date that would have had little influence on US elections.

2)IRS has been asked to delay taking action on back taxes on Katrina victims until after the current elections. This has never been done by any other commissioner of the IRS as it is considered very improper.

What do you guys think of these actions? Do you know of any other stunts?

Bush doesnt need any votes because he cant run for a third time. As long as Saddam is found guilty I will be happy. Who cares if that is the headliner. It is not going to effect the elections. I dont have a problem with people who lost everything and have to start over to wait to pay back taxes.

Seeing some of the answer to this question, I think for some, the question should be " Has the Bush Administration brainwash strategy still working ?" How can anyone be happy? You're being told what to think is important in a election by the Republicans. Carl Rove is a master of the mind, That is what he gets paid for.. My worst fear is that there will be a terrorist strike, real soon to the election, and for me if it happen I'm not sure I will be live it was a terrorist.. Is that how an American is supposed to think? I'm Middle, not left, not right.. And I don't trust our government! I don't like to think this way, thanks George and party..

Just the normal Bush lying and manipulation. Funny how a 'democrat' country and their courts bow to his and Karl Rove's whims. But at least some people in this country are speaking out. Generals are retiring from the military just so they can tell us how badly he has screwed up Iraq and the military. His own GAO chief says we are headed for an economic Katrina and Bush has undermined the levies himself. (http://finance.comcast.net/www/news.html?x=http://www.comcast.net/data/news/2006/10/28/509142.xml&cvqh=itn_economy).

Bush and the GOP have destroyed America, the middle class and our Constitution and the only family values that they care about are the values of their personal family fortunes.

Whow....what old news....where have you been living?
Out of the country.
Say what you will, but I AM STILL VOTING THIS TUESDAY !
Wait until 2008 when Bush brings out BinLaden who has been
secretly held at Area 51 since catching him in Pakistan.
This should make the Democrats go nuts.

President Bush would sell his mother to keep control of this country. Any little trick or under-the-table actions he and his cohorts can do to keep his regime in power will be pushed to the max. Bush and high-level corporate A-wipes, (multi-billionaire corporate CEO's), are more concerned about fattening their bankrolls and stock investment returns than they are with runnng our government. Whatever happened to "one government for the people by the people?" The majority of people in the USA are not in favor of Bush's record or his plans for the future. More jobs have been shipped overseas, more people have lost their jobs, more workers' pensions have been decreased or eliminated completely and the upper class keeps getting smaller and smaller and richer and richer while the middle and lower class gets bigger and bigger.
Saddam Hussiens's verdict and the Katrina victims tax situation are just a couple more of Bush's underhanded tactics to keep control of the government of the United States by pre-determining the elections results.
To top it off, do some research on how the Bush family's fortune was accumulated. President Bush's grandfather had some shaddy investments in steel mills in Poland in the 1930 and 40's.
These mills were operated by forced labor from concentration camps in control of the German SS. Some of the products built in these steel mills eventually was used to kill U.S. soldiers during WW2.........a couple of decades later, our president, or future King of the World, as he pictures himself, has benefited by his family's association with Adolf Hitler and the SS.

I am beyond outrage at this point with Republican monkeybusiness. What is it with these people? Do they really think that we are so stupid as to not see through this smoke and mirrors? If they already know what the American public wants, why haven't they done it all along? The answer is of course is that they really do not care what the majority of us want, so long as their big business friends get first drink at the watering hole. Its past time for a change.

Does not bother me in the least bit. There are larger problems to worry about. Like stopping nuclear bombs from going off in our own back yards. Every thing else is secondary.

haha. That's just smart politics. Are you presuming to say a Democrat wouldn't do the same. That would be idiotic. Haven't you noticed how democrats on television have continually made reference to the Mark Foley thing? (a fiasco that could have easily happened in either party) It would be stupid of Bush to not do the things you've mentioned. They are both just doing their jobs. Trying to win elections. I wouldn't expect anything different

Yes, these things are outrageous as will be the other last minute stunts they will pull. They know if they lose power many of them are going to go to prison because they are criminals currently being protected by the other criminals in their party who control the legal system. It will get dirty, dirty, dirty!
