He plays Sonic the Hedgehog on our PS2 really well... and he has mastered the games on my cell.

I got my son a Gameboy advanced when he was 5 and he pretty much mastered the games. Now we moved on to a Sony PSP. Way more challenging but a little more expensive.
B4 u people start saying hes too young for this, he is in the 99th percentile of the kids his age in the US for school work and is very smart. When hes online, he goes to discovery channels website as well as looking up past presidents and geography. So as long as his grades stay good, he can play anything he wants.
But I would still go w/ a PSP.

I would suggest Game Boy Advance because it is cheaper. If he looses it, it won't be so bad. If he does good with this maybe you could geth the Nintendo DS next year. Having his own game system will teach him responsibility. Good Luck!

Nintendo DS's are way cooler, bu Gameboy Advances are less expensive. However, I think you should go with the DS because they have a wide variety of really fun games for kids. He can also play games wirelessly against any of his friends that have DS's.

They are both very good. I chose Gameboy because it had a better -brighter screen and easy to see the game. The Nintendo has a wand that goes with the game that I think my children would of lost and the screen gets scratched with the wand also. Gameboy was the right decision for me.
