Don't know about mysteries, but if you like to read sci-fi/fantasy you can sign in on the Baen's Books website and not only read, but download free ebooks as well as any other number of things. Like the chat room or the Bar where you can converse with other people about books and with the authors themselves who regularly check out the site for feedback as well as to converse with their favorite readers.
