Because they are blinded by the truth. They can't admit not only when they are wrong, but also when it's one of their own cronies!

If there were a draft, it would be the Republicans who would fight it vehemently. Right now, to start a war,the Republicans call on the volunteer army, which is in essence made up of the poorest citizens in the country. This allows all republican young men to avoid the military easily, never being required to make the decision about whether to fight . A draft would change that. It used to be that every male was draft-able, regardless his economic background. Later that was amended some by congress to allow some exceptions, like being in college. Democrats would like to see a draft because then the poorest would not be the only ones fighting to keep the rest of us safe.

If you've never been in the service, it's a good experience, I think. People have gone on from the military to successful careers in business, and achieved many other accomplishments. I don't think we need a draft, conscription was abolished in the 70's after Vietnam for a reason...

Who cares who is getting it done. Your partisan division is getting in the way of common sense down there. EVERYONE should be against it. No matter if it's republican or democrat its a bad idea. Wake up people. Smell the roses. The rich kids aren't going to be drafted.

Libs are so greedy for power-- individual power-- they can't follow each others rhetoric, and thus end up looking and sounding like the un- American jack-asses they are.
