Dosen't this really criss-cross party lines?.....not all Dem want "open borders".....and not all Rep want amnesty for illegals.

This seems like ONE subject most Americans agree on.....most want SOMETHING done about the influx of illegals in this country.

So why do so many insist or fail to recognize or acknowledge that it's the President that is advocating for Amnesty and other programs that would benefit illegals?

Politician's are the only kind of human being that can talk for 2 hours, say nothing, and still manage to screw up everyone Else's life.
It really annoys when they do not listen to the people they are serving, or are they just seeing more people they can tax into poverty just to pay their overinflated wages.

That's a good question. I'm basically liberal, so I'll give the honest answer, although it will sound awkward to say so in a political battle.

Liberals aren't specifically for amnesty the way Bush is. What I mean to say is that they would probably not approach amnesty (this is the SECOND time we gave them amnesty... the first time was also by a 'conservative' president) as the beginning of more appropriate solutions.

Here's the real honest part:
Liberals are willing to represent Mexicans as well as legal citizens. Liberals, in a practical sense, don't care that they've been here illegally. They are here. They are people. Liberals are willing to work with everyone on this. Including Bush and Republicans (just don't push the dems into playing the election-season game on it). Which is why Pubs waited year after year after year to finally get around to it a few months ago.

Most of us conservatives think Bush is wrong on his stance on Mexican relations.I at least understand the underlying reasoning of this view.I don't like it but eventually we will have to create a North American Union in order to hold our monetary superiority in the world and to insure our freedom.
While Canada is considered very democratic it leans much further toward socialism than we do and does not focus on the need for strong military.Mexico is a true mess but it's people love freedom and are not afraid of work. When we all come together there will be much change and compromise that most will not like.We will be stronger but we will no longer have our identity.

Democrats wants voters, and repulbicans want slave labour. Should be a stronger separation between citizienship, and working. Citizenship should be harder to obtain, but working in America should be easier for people wanting to work if there lack of American workers doing that job. Skill Matching visa where the worker would have to look for a job before entering the country should be stressed a lot more. Job offer, and wages should be average wage in the industry or occupation. Citizenship requirements would be met with 3 to 9 years of working in the country. Do away with refugee visas, and visas for skilled workers from the poorest countries in the world.

Nice try on that spin!

Because it was and has always been the failed immigration policies of the DNC, specifically, the registration of millions of illegals to vote by the Clintonites, Al Gore, James Carville, ET AL, that encouraged, allowed, and fostered ILLEGAL immigration in the first place.

Look at it like building a dam on a river .
Your trying to control the flow not stop it completely , as that would be impossible .
Once you have control , you can channel it to get the best use of it .
What we have had for 30 years is a flood .

Open borders and multi-culturalism for the United States is a Jewish idea and policy. Jews do cross party lines. AIPAC contributes heavily to both parties.

It is about shifting blame, repugs are the best at that. As the last 6 years has played out, do not blame the repuglicans as they don't do nothing, and if you do nothing, then you cannot accept the responsibilty for anything, therefore you are not at fault. Did I describe a repuke or what?
