Communication is such an important thing in this world...but i feel that its not easy to understand someone sometimes...how do u understand someone? and how do u learn about wat others are thinking?

Communication is the key to understanding. At times it may not be easy but if you feel you don't understand someone tell them you don't understand what it is they're trying to say? It's next to impossible to learn what someone is thinking, none of us are mind readers, just ask them what' on their minds.

People tend to talk more than listen and not even be aware of it. If I say, "I'm really having problems at work" and the other person says, "Oh, me, too. My boss is such a blah..blah..blah. " has that person communicated effectively with me, in my opinion? No. If the person had heard me out and THEN explained his/ her situation, we could have had a more effective, problem-solving discussion or just a chance to vent on an equal basis. If you don't feel that you know what they're thinking or don't understand them, they may not be getting the opportunity to speak out enough, especially if they're shy or just don't wish to share - some people aren't talkers. Obviously, I'm not one of them!

It's amazing what you can understand when you genuinely want to understand someone that you care about. You need to forget about yourself and your own opinions first, then you are better able to listen effectively.

I'd like to add though - talk and listen to people, and get to know a decently wide range of people. From there, it will be natural for you to be able to understand what people might be thinking about.

when i discovered Yahoo answer , i got a brand new way of communication with others.you are asking for too much.few minutes ago i asked if anyone can understand him or herself.well when i dint know my very own self, how could i understand others.

It takes patience and time to understand someone. But then you'll know that its all worth it.
Treat people like how you want to be treated. People arent weird their just different.
