Some Spongebob Squarepants episodes seem to suggest that Spongebob's a little confused about his gender. Are we teaching kids the wrong values if we let them watch that cartoon?

I'm kinda gonna have to agree with you.....even though i watch spongebob.......he does sometimes act the opposite gender of what his author suggests him to be. I think adults who don't feel right letting their child(ren) watch the show should just never show it to them so at least they don't feel left out.

omg! im 13 and i watch spongebob (im watching it right now). My parents have no problem with it. just relax its a funny show and spongebob isn't confused about his gender. let your kids watch it, it doesn't teach them the wrong values .trust me.

are u OK now ????? u think that children care about it ?? they have great laughs with spongebob and that s it !
think of all this violence in cartoons ! from mickey mouse to dragon ball ! is that better than homosexual people ????
u think it s better for children to burn them self's , cut their body to pieces or be eaten by a dinosaur than being homosexual ? i don t get and probably never will ! what s everyone s problem with spongebob s gender ????????????????

he sometimes acts like a girl, but yea i don't see why a sponge is living in a pineapple and a starfish who wears green pants under a rock living under the sea has got to do with anything about teaching kids wrong values

Oh geez, it is a cartoon. He is a sponge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What lesson would that be...that the world is made of different kinds of people? My daughter watches it and she thinks it is funny..bottom line, not questioning whether spongebob likes Patrick. It goes with the same theory of Ernie and Bert being a gay couple! Who cares!
