coalitions between Republicans & Democrats & independents as he supposedly did as governor of Texas yet for his second term & his current stumping for Republican candidates he can only attack any & all other parties? What happened to the center ground in American politics - why can't Democrats & Republicans realize they are Americans first?

I agree with angry bearded man. But also, Bush has no intentions of uniting. "You are either with us or you are against us." is his slogan for everything. So,if you disagree you are on the side of the terrorists - or a traitor. Dividing is his forte. Democrats have no opportunity for a middle ground with Bush as he never walks there. You either go along the way he wants or you will be punished.

What he really wanted to build was a world safe for unrestricted profits in the pockets of oil-companies. The rest is all rhetoric designed to get him elected.

He lied, so is that news. He has been a divider and not the uniter that he said he was.
