damn it I cant believe how unfair blatter can be. 1st e refused to give the world cup to Italy , 2nd he said its a shame to win the world cup with penalties and now he is saying that Australia deserved to win ???? what the hell
I think he didnt see what Korea was doing in 2002 and he also forgot the unfair penalty by Zidane.
oh and by saying that its not a good way to win the world cup in shoot out he means Brazil too in 94.

omg yes I know. I think Sepp Blatter is a freaking idiot. First of all that penalty with Australia, even if they didn't get the penalty kick they wouldn't know who won anywho. How would he know that Australia would have won?? They still had to go into overtime and Italy was playing with 10 men and Australia with 11. Australia had the advantage practically the whole game but they didn't do what they had to do and score. Italy played great considering they had 1 less men then the Ausies. He is a f******* idiot, if he is going to apoligize to the Ausies why not apoligize to the Italians also?? It was the penalty in Korea 2002 which was unfair also and he didn't apoligize to us. That penalty from Malouda wasn't even sopposed to be a penalty. If you rewatch it over and over again you can see that Matrix moved his foot away as to not touch him. Therefore Malouda dived. Then if Sepp Blatter thinks he has to apoligize to the Ausies then he should do the same for the Italians for the penalty in the final, and the portuguese also for the semi - final match against France, that was an unfair call too. That was not sopposed to be a penalty. This guy is so freaking biased and I hope they fire him. He is making HIS refs look bad by saying they shouldn't have gotten the penalty, he is just saying that HIS refs didn't call it right.

Sepp Blatter is the President of Fifa, representing nations from all over the world and as the leader of such an organization he should remain impartial at all times.
As the head of such an organization he should lead by example,I don't know why he did not present the trophy to Fabio at the presentation ceremony(I hope it was not for a petty reason) but it will be interesting to see whether he does the same in 2010.
As for the Australia match, while the penalty may have been slightly harsh,it was no better or worse than any other refereeing decision at the tournament. Australia did play exceptionally well in the match but at the end of 90 minutes the score was still 0-0 so I don't understand how Blatter can predict that Australia would have won the match.
How he can say that penalties are not a good way to decide the World Cup is beyond me. Whilst he may have a point,it seems like he is trying to tarnish Italy's victory with these thoughtless comments.
The time has come for him to resign.

Irrespective of what he personally believes Emma, his position demands neutrality, objectivity and leadership, which he does not appear to be well versed in. That was unprofessional of a man in his position.

Even as an Aussie, who was so disappointed at the way the match ended, that is football. There were more controversies than our match alone. He is responsible for a lot of rule changes etc that have been implemented and changed under his control. So to a degree he only has himself to blame if he feels the quality of the WC was lacking in specific areas.

Soccer_ moron..you cannot generalise like that. Of course Australia was disappointed but they reacted no differently to any other side who suffered a controversial loss.

Italy might have gotten a bit lucky that the penalty was called. If not for the penalty, Australia would've had as much chance as Italy to win the game. But these things happen, like when France was awarded a controversial penalty in the final, which Zidane coolly converted (I still don't think there was enough contact to call for a penalty). But coming back to Italy-Australia, it was a disheartening way to lose for the Australians, and I can feel that pain. Refs did their best. And Blatter has lost his mind.

i think that the fifa "organisats" the winner every time, sorry but after the last 2 world cups, the fifa lost it`s loyality and i can`t believe that the fifa does`nt care about money

everyone talks about the manipulation in the italian soccer, but I think, after all this what happend, france was choosen to be the winner, italy doesn`t played with this rules, and so we won

i hope that the blatter has to go, he took the loyaltiy from the fifa and everything else what it was for

well, italy deserves the world cup championship, Australia was good but not as good to win the cup and to beat italy

and by saying that winning by shots is not a win is a stupid said because this is a rule in Football since years and years, is he going to change it now

he is starting to loose his mind, better for him to be retired by now after what he said

Well, penalties are part of the game, he wouldn't mind if France had won on penalties, but I agree with him, Australia was very strong and better then Italy, but he is saying that because he don't like Italians not because he likes Australians !!!!! If everything was fair Australia would be third, like Croatia in France 98!!!!

I think that guy should shut his fat mouth! he probably is looking for attention! Italy deserved to win no matter what anyone says!
It's basically the referee's fault for calling a penalty.. not Grosso's!

I will not listen to anyone talk crap about our team I think they should keep their mouth shut! Italy are the champions

dear Emma, you'd know Blatter is a French from switzerland so you can image how much ''rosicone'' he is.
he is a shame for the football, I am waiting for him to retire, so that I can celebrate he doesn't deserve to be the president of Fifa.

I dont mean to be mean but you know I say what I think.
