How long does it take for breastmilk to dry out?

It is different for everyone. My mother-in-law could feel the let down tingle when she was in her 40's, and she stopped breastfeeding her youngest child when she was 27. But some women stop breastfeeding and are never even engorged and dont have milk at all after only a few days. That's how it was for my sister when she weaned her youngest.

I nursed my daughter for 2 1/2 years. We stopped nursing this past Mother's Day. If I really tried, I could still express some milk. So weird.

If you feed, the milk keeps formig...it doesn't just dry up. However if you don't trgger the replenishment process it can take a few weeks to dry up... however they have pills that will help accellerate the process. Talk to your doctor for advice...

Depends on you, its different for everyone, but about two weeks if you leave it alone, and you have to deal with the engorgment and stuff. It does hurt!

Well it should start to dry out once you stop feeding your baby. That is the trigger for you to stop making milk. Every time you feed your baby though, you make more milk

You can ask your doctor for some medicine to speed things up. But without it your breast can produce milk for a year or two. I could express even after two years. Not much- but there was something in there. I found it odd. But it didnt hurt- its just annoying when you get those tingles.

It all depends on how long you've been doing it. Supply and demand. Your body makes what your baby demands. It could be days or weeks.

If you drink pills that dry it up, it takes about a week.
If you leave it , it takes a little bit longer
