Yes. It is abhorrent. Especially if they know you are taking allergy medicines to deal with standing there with them.... It's like they think, Oh, she's allergic but takes that medicine so it should be okay. More likely they don't think at all except of themselves.

You are so right and I am an occasional smoker. Often people don't even know that i smoke as it is somethig i do in private...and really only a couple of times a week or every two weeks. i have had friends for two years tell me they had no idea I smoked..as they could never smell it on me. I am very careful about my smoke...and still am cutting down to nil on it. I hate second hand smoke...your point is well taken and tho people may hate my reply ...this is my truth......Thumbs up to you!

I'm highly allergic to smoke, I have permanent damage from 2nd hand smoke. One breath of it and my lungs start trying to shut down. I have to be really careful where I go. Sometimes when I'm standing close to someone who has been smoking the chemicals off of their clothes get to me.
Tobacco toxins kill 63,000 non smokers a year, nice huh??? It kills over 3000 infants a year, not to mention the damage it does to the millions of ones who survive.

Yes, Absolutely, I HATE HATE HATE the smell of smoke from someones cigs. I can't stand to even be around it. I hate eating at a restaurant and the smoking section is only divided by a few chairs. I don't want to eat your smoke.

I live in Germany... people here (and most of Europe) smoke like it's going out of style. They smoke EVERYWHERE from trains to elevators... good luck finding a restaurant where they have a non-smoking section. It's like they are completely ignorant of the dangers of smoking and they could careless about the effects of second-hand smoke...
Nasty... just nasty.

Yes, and it doesn't matter where you sit or stand because you are always down wind and the smoke heads right toward you. I used to believe I was a smoke magnet drawing the smoke to me.
