Deserves what a 'person' asked for !

I knew this question would come up sooner rather than later ..

I've read several answers on this thread, and sadly, many of them are banally repetitive.

You state:If a girl walks into a pub scantily clad knowing she might get raped and she is- is she responsible?

The kneejerk reaction here is 'No!!! WTF!!! No means no!! Men who rape have ..' blah blah blah ..

Let's focus on the main issue most of you have missed - Intention. Said girl's intention, specifically.

Have any of you wondered why this girl would wear revealing clothes? What was she thinking while getting dressed? Was she thinking 'Oh yes, this red spandex ultramini brings out my legs and *** and I'll look super hot. Maybe that hunky bartender will finally notice me!'?
In this case, she was looking for attention and she got it. Any woman who shows flesh subconsciously sends this message: Look at what I got right here, it could be yours tonight. This is further reiterated by the fact that the poster said " ..knowing she might get raped". Hence, I believe the girl deserves what comes her way.

I will not argue the fact that men must exercise self-restraint, but do you really think that the threat of jail-time can override one of the three most basic animal instinct (ie the instinct of procreation)? Evolution, millions of years' worth in fact, have molded a man's brain in such a way that this drive is quite frankly unstoppable once set in motion. You cannot stop a hungry lion from hunting, you cannot stop a bear from seeking shelter during harsh winters, and you cannot stop a mammal from mating. If consequences cannot deter a man from this illegal practise, nothing in this world can.

In conclusion, I will say that women should protect themselves. Testosterone surges make men surprisingly strong, and fear makes women predictably weak.

Ladies, if you're going to a late-night party or to a pub, cover up what you aren't offering.

You are probably safe... if you grab the hot electrical wire, and are not touching a return. But why take the chance?

I find this behavior STUPID and on some level CRUEL.

No does mean no... but dressed like that means "HEY GUYS LOOK AT WHAT YOU AREN'T TOUCHING".

I don't condone a guys actions who goes over the line (even though I am one)... but the girl has some responsibility as well.

No woman is ever responsible for being raped. The question is, did she give anyone a reason to think that she wanted to have sex. When men get the impression that sex is an option it's very hard to change their mind.

Rape is not about sex, but about power. If a guy is going to commit rape then it doesn't matter what a woman is wearing.
That being said a woman can commit rape as well (it just isn't taken seriously) A rapist is an insecure person who has to assert their power because they fell they have none.

"knowing she might be raped"?
That shows she knows the consequences and "walking into a pub" shows she's willing to take her chances. But, of course, she can't be blamed.

If a man talks outside on a mobile phone knowing he might get mugged, is he responsible?

She is irresponsible if she "knowingly" places herself in danger, but is not responsible if rape occurs. An individual's clothing choice (or lack thereof) is not an excuse for assault.
