In my opinion, political moderates take the best of both the left and the right and mold them into a "real woirld" view.

Question #1: What does it mean to be a political moderate? Where do you stand on today's hot button issues?

Question #2: If you consider yourself a liberal or conservative, (meaning at the far ends of the political spectrum), how does your respective ideology solve today's somewhat intractable problems?

I use the word moderate because some people are liberal on some issues, and conservative on others. I also believe that moderation is a good idea, because IF you want to solve the problems, you're going to have to compromise on the issues, sometimes give a little, sometimes get a little. Otherwise, we are going to discuss policy and ideology all day long but in the end, NOTHING GETS SOLVED!

And those who feel that moderation is a failture to decide missed the point!

I agree with your opinion, on some issues I am conservative on others I am liberal, for example I do not believe in income inheirtance or property taxes, I do not beleive in gun control, but I beleive in the right to free speech and assembly, and a national health and housing program

I'm a moderate and I think both reps and dems have good ideas. Regarding abortion, I'm pro-choice and I support gay marriage. However, I'm for tax cuts and for churches to provide welfare services that way the government won't have to. Stem cell research is fine.Ilegal drugs are wrong and we need to be tougher on the people who buy it and sell it. I'm for the death penalty especially for child rapists and terrorists. I'm agains the Iraq war but supported at the beginning and think Bush is being soft on illegal immigration.

'Mixed' would be more accurate. 'Centrist' would be dead-inaccurate. Moderate can mean either, so no.

Having mixed political views requires you to compromise without giving up the essence of the concerns of your positions. To be centrist is to actively surrender to the middle without even truly advocating your position first.

Centrism is just as dangerous as hard-line frozen religious beliefs (political).

Most Moderates are Liberals who are in hiding, so people won't know what freaks they really are.
Democrat Politicians always try to fool the people that way. And the Liberal News Media helps them get by with it.

Not at all, but for a few moderate aberrations, gun control, I am actually a little to the right on abortion. But when it comes to voting I would vote for that yellow dog if he was a democrat.
