For men, the pros of wearing pantyhose is the benefit they have in improving lower extremity blood flow. Wearing support pantyhose significantly reduces the risk of some kinds of strokes and peripheral vascular disease. The cons include the problem of teaching a man in his sixties how to put tight pantyhose on.
For women, the pros include all the good answers above, and vascular health benefits, although I have personal druthers about using support hose as a vascular crutch routinely. How are those little valves in our legs going to get tough (you want tough valves) if we mollycoddle them so?). The cons include increased vaginal yeast infections from synthetic pantyhose fabric and reduced airflow to the perineal area. Women should not wear panties or pantyhose all day.

Pros: Supportive styles provide compression which helps circulation and may provide a more energized feel in your legs. In warmer (shorts) weather, they eliminate your skin sticking to objects (such as the leather upholstery in your car). In warmer weather, they also actually help a person feel cooler, as the material wicks moisture away from the body. In cooler weather, they provide a buffer between the skin and the outer layer of clothing (eg. pants), and therefore help provide extra warmth.
Cons: Poor quality or poor fitting hose can be uncomfortable.

The football pro's wear them to keep warm. The con's wear them to mask their faces during robberies.

Pros: They help finish off a nice dress or skirt suit. They also hide skin imperfections and ugly veins.
Cons: They rip or run very easily. You almost need short fingernails to get them on without ruining them. They are also very hot if you wear them on a fairly warm day.

Pros: They are sexy and hold a womans scent in. They can get kind of sweaty when it is hot.
The Cons: They are just another thing that you have to wear and can look pretty stupid if you wear them on the wrong day or with the wrong type of clothes.

Pro's - they give your legs tone, they help your figure especially around the backside and hips, they're fairly versatile and can be worn with most things, they don't show lines, they help tight clothes to sit properly and not bunch up when your sitting down or moving around.
Con's - they're far too easy to snag and they don't last very long.

Regardless of the pros, they're a damned nuisance and relatively expensive. Can't think of any other article of apparel that gets destroyed so quickly and must frequently be discared after only one wearing . Whomever dreamed them up aught to be beheaded!
