well... a circle is the compilation of a infinite number of tangent lines which are perpendicular, at a fixed distance, from a central point...when we use math to define a circle it speaks of the points that each tangent line touches another tangent line. A circle has no curves, just an infinite number of straight lines. Therefore a cylinder has no curved face it has an infinite number of flat faces.
