wow, some people obviously dont like colorado. First off it is no more big, noisy, or dangerous than any other city its actully pretty safe and quiet for the most part. the winters are not as bad as most people think. Its mild and sunny for a good pert of the winter. we get about 6 snow storms a winter but they are cleared up the next day. the 2 weeks of food is completely untrue. in my 15 years in the state i have only seen 2-3 storms that lasted more than a day. as far as suburbs try littleton, centennial, englewood, arvada, and highlands ranch. all of those are good places for families and good schools. avoid aurora.

Different people like different things. If you like lots and lots of people, terrible traffic, and brown most of the winter (particularly in the sky) ; then the Denver area might be just the place for you. I like Denver so much that I claim Southern Colorado (where I was born) as where I'm from even though I've lived in Denver almost 40 years now. I have to admit, if you're into skiing or boarding, night life, team sports, etc.; Denver is probably a terrific city. but you pay a price for everything.

Colorado is a great place to live.Love the weather. I live in Castle Rock 30 min. south of Denver. Go to www.townofcastlerock.org
It'll give you an idea Colorado weather and stuff.
I don't know where the Denver native lives ,but the towns around Denver are not scattered and run into each other. there is no shortage of stores. Have lived here since 1991 and only missed 2 days of work because of snow.It is a good idea to have a weeks supply of food per person on hand in case of any emergency. that applys for any where in the country..........as per the US Gov.

I think Denver is a great city. The bars downtown are close together and tons of fun. if you're single this is a great city for singles. I love going to watch the rockies, avalanche, and broncos... it's close to the mountains so if you ski or snowboard or in the summer hike or bike you can always take off to head over there. As for suburbs I would stick to the south of denver or the west... A lot of my friends live in the lakewood (Bel Mar area) and highlands ranch areas. So anyway if youre looking for a city with lots to do and lots of single people you're moving to a great place.

I'd live closer to Downtown if I could, the suburbs are quite scattered and there are miles wihtout a store or anything, A reliable car is a must in the suburbs. Have a two weeks extra supply of food on hand, too. Sometimes the weather is unforgiving.

Colorado in general is great. I have lived in Northglenn, Thornton, Boulder, Longmont, Niwot, Frederick, Firestone, Erie, Greeley, Loveland, Ft. Collins & my brother in Aurora. I would not live right in Denver. Northglenn would be ok, but the other towns are close enough you can make the commute easy. Not to mention more cheaper. I love Colorado the weather is perfect. Does not get too cold and they do not have humidity. Lived there over 30 yrs. I am stuck in Minnesota right now, and want to move back. My son lives in Loveland. Beautiful & lots of fishing
