There's no way that Klose can be considered the best striker in the world because even an off-form Thierry Henry would be better than him. The best striker in the world would most likely be Thierry Henry or Andriy Shevchenko, but AT PRESENT the trio of Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o and David Villa are playing at their peak and probably deserve to be called the best in the world.

it's been an up and down season already...I would pick Drogba of Chelsea who's got about ten and hold his position in the Bank Of Chelsea (-:

I'd be interested in some of the other answers.

This year is difficult so far to choose...other years have been much easier...I'm only assessing the start of the new Euro season and internationals.

You can't pick Sheva as he's only got 2 goals for Chelsea - he is great though.

I would say Drogba based on form, and form this season is the only way u can go really. Maybe that 6ft 6in bag of bones Peter Crouch from Liverpool (-: as a close second. How he keeps scoring for England and the Reds(and he gets difficult goals too!)......regarding Klose - he is a goal scorer...just call him a tournament champion as he has been up there at the last 2 WC's and u can't take that away from him...although he doesn't score say 30/45 goals in a season like others. He always gets his 20/25...more of tournament player I suppose.

As my first two for in form strikers(as per the question):
Drogba and Crouch....I like Eto'o for third...really couldn't pick anyone else for a top 5 or 10.

Now at the moment Villa is most dangerous striker in Europe..... Eto'o and Fred are injured, Toni is not near last season form, Adriano and Ibrahimovic are under their permormances, Oliveira scored one goal for Milan and that was it, Shevchenko is lost, Henry can't get back in his form ( like Ronaldinho), .......
