hi, my 1993 vw carevelle 2.4 auto deisel has gone into safe mode it will not change up from 3rd to 4th?

Hi Steve,
This is just a guess mate, you can take your vehicle into auto box repair centres and have a word with them. I think it may just want a gearbox service, it doesn't cost the earth as the box stays in the vehicle.

I use to take all my second hand Volvos in andhave them serviced at a cost of around £60 back in 1993 to 1995 and my car felt brand new after it was done.
They take off the bottom plate after first draining the oil, everything that can be cleaned and adjusted is done, new filter and new oil and new bottom plate gasket. Shift the lot is checked and adjusted. Pop down to a reputable agent recommended by your VW agent.
