What does it say in the deeds, it should say when it was built.

If it is less than 100 years old look at electoral registers to see if your house appears on these registers that should date back to about 120 years. Electoral registers will be at your local library or records office

If it is more than 100 years old have a look at the census to see if your house appears on the 1841, 51, 61, 71, 81, 91 & 1901 censuses, you can do all this at the local records office. or at scotlandspeople http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

There is a free indexed 1881 census here, but without a name you wont be able to find a particular place.

Looking at these records will give you a history of who lived there if it is very old. Also the records office may hold documents about your house and also family documents such as Wills for the families whio lived in the house.

Also look at the many maps available that will show your house.
