Do you find the word "Fa ggot" offensive?
it is just another word for homosexual or gay.
does it bother you that we are called "Straight" as in on the right way, for example people say: "Let me get this straight" it's like another word for "right".

No offense to anyone, just want to know what you think, no stupid or hateful answers.

Well the meaning behind F-a-g-g-o-t is deep. It actually goes back to oled times where efeminate men and men who liked the same sex were considered witches or demonic heathens. They were thrown into the fire like f-a-g-g-o-ts (Fa-gg-ots=Bundles of wood) Burned alive. This is how the name came about, it bears as much hate and ignorance as the N word!

One thing that must be understood is that while the word "f----t" is indeed a word for homosexual, it is considered an offensive word(like the "N" word for African Americans). Just because a word/phrase has a similar or same meaning to another doesn't mean that it's acceptable to use.
Incidentally, I have never considered the use of the word "straight" in you example above to have anything to do with sexual orientation. To me, it was about comparing the situation with a line(straight vs. crooked or curvy). So no, that doesn't bother me a bit.

Yes that word is offensive. Yes sometimes I find the idea that if someone is "straight" than we are 'bent" or "crooked" a bit offensive too. But I remember that the people that call us these words are the really twisted ones.

I don't find that word offensive if it's coming from another gay person, while kidding around.

The fact that the word "straight" is applied to heterosexuals doesn't affect me.

In Britain we don't use the word 'f.ggot', I suppose 'poof' would be the closest.
I'm not keen on it, if it's used as an insult - between friends any term can be used jokingly, but otherwise 'gay' will do fine, thank you.
'Straight' doesn't mean 'right', it means unbending, which sounds a narrow-minded kind of way to be.

No, it's not "just another word" as it is intentionally used as a disparagement and it is especially vile considering the word's origins.
And "straight"? No I don't find that offensive, the word has always had several meanings.

it extremely is unquestionably approximately labels and identity. human beings have a issue with people who say they're Christian and gay or gay. To maximum persons you're figuring out with 2 conflicting labels. So what are you? A working in the direction of Christian who has gay inclinations, or a working in the direction of gay who has Christan inclinations? the alternative is comparable to with all sin... the two you maintain on with the temptation, or you maintain on with God's printed will related to it. that's no distinctive than somebody who needs to thieve. they might have the urge and want, yet they might desire to self-discipline themselves to no longer act upon it. Christians can choose your having temptations. They do too. that's in residing after the flesh, rather of for God, that they are going to locate difficult to settle for. maximum persons, Christian or no longer, locate it no longer purely morally incorrect, yet will react with disgust and loathing on the very theory. it extremely is regardless of the media barrage and time table to "desensitize" people who're no longer gay. people who've offered into the "politically appropriate" time table and way of questioning will choose your perfect to do as you need, as will maximum Christians. they only won't carry you responsible on your movements for worry of being labeled bigot, illiberal or hateful. A Christian will, using fact of their love for you and God. edit: The bf theory? it extremely is like putting your toe interior the water previously leaping in. no longer an outstanding flow...
