Actually it is your LEFT side...

Better blood flow to the baby and helps your kidneys somehow.

If you roll over during the night and wake up on your right, don't panic. Staying on your left is supposed to be best, but rolling over isn't a crisis.

Actually, it's the left side. Sleeping on the left side allows a much less obstructed passage for blood and oxygen to the baby. The right side is OK but the left side is best.

A pregnant woman should NEVER sleep on her back .It's okay if you wake up and find yourself laying on your back, just flip over to one of your sides. The reason behind this is as your uterus grows, it will press against major vessels such as your aorta and cut off oxygen and blood supply.

Because of the anatomy of the human body if you lie on your right side the baby gets less oxygen as the weight of the child bears down on your major blood vessels that carry oxygen to the fetus and to you. You should sleep on your left side.
