Acrylic nails can be done on most any short existing nails as with sculptured gel types. The concern a nail technician may have is if you have any infections or fungus present. Also a big concern would be if your nail beds are strong and healthy enough to support the faux nails. If those things are satisfactory then you can safely proceed to have long gorgeous nails. Consider the length of time you wish to wear these new nails as to remove them will damage the existing nail beds leaving them weak and vulnerable to injury and infection.

Good luck sweetie=)

Yes you don't have to have any nails to have false ones done. I have no nails at all and when I go to a salon to have acrylic ones put on I've seen the nail technicians there actually cut the real nail down otherwise it would grow too fast underneath the false ones. P.S. I hate the word "aint". It's "isn't"!. Sorry it's my pet hate.

they actually will end up trimming off your own nails before they put on the real naiuls, otherwise it is dangerous for your fingers. Even the most chewed nails can have false nails. They wont put them on over existing long nails as if you accidentally pulled one, you'd do your finger damage. Let the beautician decide. I think you'll be grand

If you are going to have false nails on, go for sculptured rather than tips - tips have to be glued on and wreck your nails when they come off. Sculptured nails have hardly any effect on your own nails if they are taken off properly.

Any length of nail is fine but you may have to have infils more regularly as they are more likely to lift.
