Do you think court proceedures and the high cost of going to trial, nas made it nearly impossible to get a fair outcome to cases?

no i dont think so because they must have learned to make it cheaper after all those falsly acuused people who have gone to prison

Fair is a four letter F-Word and lacks objective definition that all can agree upon.

Clearly, 50% of all cases i.e. the winners, will take the position the the judicial system was "fair."

The cost and expense for getting a FAIR AND EQUAL dose of due process for all participants is exhorbitant.

To answer your question, no not impossible. Yes, it is probable that it will be high cost.

Don't do the crime if you can't pay the dime!

Yes in America we have justice only if you can afford it, how many innocent people have been imprisoned due to a lack of a good attorney? According to the FBI 15% of all felony convictions are wrong! Thats indicating a current wrongful prison population of 250,000 people!

according to the bill of rights, all men are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a panel of their peers. so, you don't have to prove you're innocent, the state must prove you guilty.
